Wildlife and Botanical Art- Natural Science Illustration
My commitment is to inspire awareness of and connection to the natural world.
Nature inspires me most. I create Wildlife and Botanical art utilizing the mediums of graphite, watercolor, color pencil, gouache and photography. I graduated from University of Washington’s Natural Science Illustration program in June 2009. My specialties are wild canines, felines, raptors and wild edible and medicinal plants of the Pacific Northwest. These images are some of my drawings from the Natural Science Illustration Program.

Artist’s Statement
Seeking to be closer to nature, I left my long-time home in Berkeley, California and moved to Whidbey Island, WA in 2007. Inspired by the surrounding beauty of water, earth and sky, I decided to focus on visual art. A passion for animals, plants, and the natural world led me to the Natural Science Illustration program at University of Washington in 2008. My love for endangered species such as the Cheetah and Tiger motivate me to create images that represent the power and beauty of such animals.
My intent is to create images that both represent the natural world and inspire in the viewer a reverence and deep understanding of our impact and connection to all beings on the planet.
My commitment is to inspire awareness of and connection to the natural world.
