Guitars

Entry Level for thrifty beginners

• Godin's Art&Lutherie/Seagull line, Blueridge, and Yamaha are good quality reasonably priced guitars.
  

Mid to Higher End Acoustic guitars

• Collings, Martin and Taylors are great guitars to last lifetimes of use. Some Martins and Taylors can be found at budget prices used or check their entry level models (non USA made).

Electric Guitars

• Fender and Gibson have been making some of the finest electric guitars on the planet for over 50 years!

I recommend starting with light to medium strings. Beginners might consider extra light (10-47)
